1 You can't remove the plug easy when locked in the socket for easy disconnection.
2 If its locked into a socket with no switch, then you can't turn off the power if there is a fault.
3 You need a tool to unlock the plug before it can be removed from the socket.
4 If you pull hard enough to remove the plug while its locked, it may damage the earths rubber pins.
5 If you need to quickly use the socket its plugged into, then it takes longer as you need to unlock the plug.
6 When being used as a blanking plug, it protrudes out more than the simple plastic types you can buy.
7 If locked when out of the socket, thus you need to unlock before placing into the socket.
8 Not ideal for non switched sockets with no RCD protection.
